Summer Hours The Campus Ministry office will be open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8 am - 11 am, from June 21 until August 9. Campus Ministry – The Mission"Preach the Gospel and if necessary use words." – St. Francis of Assisi The Campus Ministry department at Bishop Manogue Catholic High School endeavors to bring the Gospel message of Jesus Christ to students, faculty, staff, parents, and alumni of Bishop Manogue. We utilize retreats, education, service, liturgy, prayer, community, fellowship, and worship as our primary tools in achieving this goal. Campus Ministry is about helping our community connect with God on a deeper level and growing in our Catholic faith. God loves you tenderly. What He gives you is not to be kept under lock and key, but to be shared." - Mother Teresa Kairos Retreat– Kairos is a retreat for juniors and seniors. This retreat strives to help students deepen their faith and religious understanding. The retreatants will experience talks, activities, prayer, and liturgy in a four-day retreat at Zephyr Cove, Lake Tahoe. This retreat is offered at all of the top Catholic high schools in the country. Quest Retreat– Quest is a retreat for freshman and sophomores that teaches students to find God in their everyday lives. The retreatants will experience talks, activities, and prayer in a two-day retreat at Camp Galilee in Glenbrook, Nevada. Choices Retreat– Choices is a retreat for sophomores and juniors that helps students to examine their decision making process through a lens of faith. The retreatants will experience talks, activities, prayer, and liturgy in a two-day retreat at Camp Galilee in Glenbrook, Nevada. Emmaus Retreat–Emmaus is a retreat for seniors that have attended Kairos. This retreat is designed to build upon the lessons and values of Kairos in preparing seniors for life after high school. This is a two-day retreat that will take place at Camp Galilee in Glenbrook, Nevada. Freshmen Retreat – The Freshmen Retreat is a mandatory day retreat for freshmen that occurs during the first quarter of freshmen year. This retreat focus on introducing students to Bishop Manogue, the Campus Ministry program, and it gives students an opportunity to meet their classmates in a relaxed setting. Liturgy – Campus Ministry is responsible for offering sacramental experiences for the school. This includes the celebration of the Eucharist, Reconciliation, and Anointing of the Sick. Our chapel is also open for memorial services and weddings of Bishop Manogue Alumni. We also offer a prayer service focusing on ecumenism and Lenten reflections. Peer Ministry –Students are given the opportunity to learn how to outreach to their fellow students and to the Bishop Manogue community at large through our Peer Ministry program. Peer Ministry students will assist in liturgical planning, retreat formation and facilitation, service projects, prayer and worship experiences, and much more. The only requirements to be involved in Peer Ministry are a positive attitude, a willingness to serve, and enrollment in the Peer Ministry elective class 4th period. Service – The Campus Ministry department encourages a lifelong commitment to service in the model of Jesus Christ. To this end we oversee the Christian Service Program as well as service trips and local service experiences. This year we will be sponsoring a school wide service day on March 31, 2010. Christian Service Program - Information Local Service Offerings School Wide Service Day Prayer – In order to maintain and foster a spirit of faith the Campus Ministry department begins and ends every school day with school wide prayer. We also have a prayer box for special intentions in Christ the Teacher Chapel. There are differing prayer opportunities that correspond to the liturgical season and events happening in and around the school. Moreover, through a connection to the Parents Association there is a bi-weekly rosary group that meets to hold up special intentions and the Bishop Manogue community through the praying of the rosary.
